We thank the staff at the Institute of Tropical Medicine Alexander von Humboldt (IMTAvH), in particular Viviana Quintana, Doris Agapito, Alfonso Silva-Santisteban, Erick Mayer, Fanny Ita, Jaime Zaldivar, Vanessa Adaui, Michael Talledo and Oscar Nolasco for their valuable assistance in the attention of HTLV-1-infected patients, HTLV-1 diagnosis and PCR assays.
